Avara Foods has a number of exciting degree apprenticeship opportunities available in food engineering and food science at our Hereford facility. If you like the idea of earning while you learn and gaining a degree without accruing any student debt, our degree apprentice programme could be for you!
We’re currently looking for Food Engineering (BEng Honours) and Food Science and Technology Degree (BSc Honours) apprentices to join us. Both degrees can lead to interesting and rewarding careers in the foods sector and are recognised and respected qualifications in the industry.
WE are one of the UK largest food businesses and supply many of the nation’s favourite supermarkets and restaurant chains. As one of the largest poultry processors in the UK, if you’ve eaten chicken in the past six months, chances are you’ve eaten some of ours.
Successful applicants will primarily be based at our site in Hereford, getting hands-on experience, but will also complete one week of residential study for each module of their degree, studying at Harper Adams University. Over time there may also be opportunities to support other sites during your apprenticeship with us, giving you the chance to really understand how our business operates as a whole.
Most importantly, our apprentices have real jobs and real responsibility within our company. Carefully-structured training, development and regular mentoring means our degree apprentices really get the chance to contribute to our success. We encourage the people we train to stay with us and continue to help us grow; many of our senior management completed apprenticeships or graduate programme placements with the company. Your degree apprenticeship is only the start of your career – we offer continuous training and development, with various progression options available.
We want to be a company you want to work with and for – our people are dedicated and passionate about maintaining our high standards and achieving the best.
