This December four Avara Foods sites undertook food bank appeals for local charities in their areas. Our Telford, Brackley, Dudley and Newent sites all ran week-long campaigns seeking donations of food and toiletries in the run up to Christmas to help those in their local communities experiencing difficulty getting by this festive season.
Avara’s Telford site collected for Telford Crisis Support; our Brackley site collected for Banbury Food Bank; Dudley collected for the Black Country Food Bank and the Newent site collected for Gloucester Food Bank, all working as part of the Trussell Trust. Our Telford site also donated 100 packs of chicken breast fillets to Telford Crisis Support for distribution.
“I’m proud of the contributions made by Avara colleagues during our Christmas food bank appeals, and this kind of activity is at the heart of the company’s values,” commented Philip Davidson, Operations Director at Avara Foods. “In many of the areas we operate, Avara is a major employer and we believe strongly in supporting our local communities. Collectively we’ve made a significant contribution to food bank charities this Christmas, and I look forward to us building on this next year.”
