Avara Foods colleagues at our Brackley site recently held a winter clothes drive to support local homelessness charities. These charities supply homeless and vulnerable people with warm, practical clothes during the cold winter months and were very grateful for our support. Our colleagues came together and raided their cupboards and wardrobes to help keep homeless people warm.
The appeal, which ran in March, saw dozens of coats, jumpers and jogging bottoms donated. The company also purchased sleeping bags to bolster the donations, and then split the donations between the two charities.
“As a company Avara Foods is always looking for ways to contribute to the local community,” commented Rob Bywater, Site Manager at Avara Foods, Brackley. “Our team at Brackley is motivated and passionate, and I was so pleased at how enthusiastically they took up the challenge of helping these two great charities.”
The Hope Centre in Northampton was one of the charities Avara Foods colleagues supported with the clothes drive. Hope Centre Community Fundraiser, Tanya Haji-Miller, said: “We are extremely grateful to all the generous staff from Avara Foods for their donations. Without support like this from members of our community, we would not be able to help the homeless and most vulnerable people in our town.”
