As part of the Newent team's continued support of The Lord’s Lard Food Bank, Gabriella Labrum, HR Manager, and Jade Sutton, Technical Manager, donated 66 Easter eggs last week on behalf of the local team. The charity is currently working with fifty families in the local area, and the eggs will be distributed in food parcels in time for Easter.
The Lord's Larder Food Bank, provides food and personal care products to those in need in the Forest of Dean, Newent, Leadon Vale and West of Severn. All those who find themselves unable to feed themselves or their families in the locality are eligible for short-term assistance from the charity. It opened in 2010 and is run and maintained entirely by volunteers.
Avara at Newent has a longstanding relationship with the initiative and has supported the foodbank with financial donations and foodstuffs previously. Recognising that unemployment is a concern for many of those using The Lord’s Larder, the charity is providing information about Avara Foods’ recruitment opportunities to those accessing its services
Geoff Pugsley, Site Manager at Avara Foods in Newent, commented, “I’m pleased our relationship with The Lord’s Larder continues to grow, and we’re always happy to support a great cause like this. The food bank does sterling work in our area and is a real lifeline for many in the local community. We hope the Easter eggs are enjoyed!”
