Avara Foods was shortlisted in the training category at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards 2020, which were held last week. The aim of the awards is to independently highlight food manufacturing leaders and trendsetters in the industry, and provide a platform to celebrate and recognise hard work from those driving positive change.
Avara is very proud of its Leadership Development Training Programme and we were pleased to have been shortlisted on the strength of this. On the night colleagues from across the business who have completed, or are currently undertaking this programme, attended with representatives from HR, Communications, Operations, Production, Technical, Health & Safety, Finance and People Development present.
The programme has been built on examining feedback from participants of previous training programmes, with emotional intelligence, change leadership and the practical aspects of people management all incorporated into the current Avara Foods Leadership Development Training Programme. Importantly, we recognised a move away from just the theoretical, and put an emphasis on practical learning to ensure participants had a rounded training experience.
Andrew Brodie, People & Communications Director at Avara Foods commented “It was a great honour to have our Leadership Development Training Programme shortlisted in the training category at this year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards; we’ve spent a lot of time devising this programme, which incorporates Institute of Leadership Management accreditation. Colleague development is hugely important to us, and career development and progression a cornerstone of our values. I’m very proud of everyone who has helped make this programme such a success, and all our colleagues who have undertaken it so far.”
